Hi, I’ve been looking into braces for a long time now but I grind my teeth at night. My dentist has been trying to get this under control but it’s still a really bad habit of mine. Is there any discreet brace you can recommend that would be suitable for me? My teeth were already misaligned before I started grinding my teeth…so that isn’t the problem! I wanted Invisalign but have been told because they’re aligners they won’t be suitable because of the grinding. Thank you for your help!

Hi there, thanks for your question. The aligners are changed every two weeks so it’s unlikely that your treatment would be affected by the tooth grinding, as the time period wearing each aligner is so short. You could also have lingual braces such as Incognito. These are discreet because they’re fixed to the back of your teeth rather than the front. Hope this is useful! – Dr Stafford.
