Can I swap my fixed bracs for Invisalign aligners?

Q.
Hello,
I currently wear a metal brace on both my upper and lower teeth which was done on the NHS. I have recently come into some money and would like to switch to a more discreet brace and I have been reading about them online such as Invisalign and the Inman aligner but my main worry is that as I have been wearing metal braces for over a year I won’t be able to switch. Could you give me any advice?
A.
Since you have persevered with a fixed brace for over a year now, it may be worth to finish with it if your treatment nearing to an end. If you would prefer a more discreet brace, then before you make a hasty move and have your fixed braces removed, it would be wise to be assessed by an experienced Invisalign provider if you would be a suitable candidate for the treatment. Having orthodontic treatment in the past does not exclude you from Invisalign. Best Wishes, Vasileia.
