How Much Does it Cost to Replace an Aligner?

July 22nd, 2014
Q.

Hello Dr Patel. Invisalign braces seem like the ideal option for me because they’re removable and discreet, but I am really clumsy and manage to lose everything so I’m worried I’d lose my aligner! How much would I have to pay if that happened? I also wanted to ask if there’s a cooling off period in case the aligners don’t agree with my for whatever reason? Another worry I’ve got is that I’ll find them painful and just want to take them out all the time. Thank you!

Is Invisalign as Effective Metal Braces When Treating a Cross Bite?

July 4th, 2014
Q.

Hi Drs Cannell and Stafford. I’m 24 and my teeth are horrible. I was told I didn’t need braces when I was younger but as I’ve got older they’ve just got worse and worse.I have real confidence issues because of them so I really want to get them sorted out. I don’t want metal braces because I’m too self-conscious. I have a severe cross bite, do you think Invisalign would be as good as fixing this problem as metal braces? Thank you.

Can Invisalign Express Treat Just One Tooth?

June 6th, 2014
Q.

I have one tooth on the top which, due to not enough space, has raised and is now growing further out than the rest – basically I think it just needs to be pushed back. Is this possible with Invisalign Express and if so, how long approximately would it take? The problem is just one tooth as the rest of my teeth both upper and lower and quite straight.

What Are Attachments, And Are They Visible?

June 2nd, 2014
Q.

Hello Dr Sepehrara. I have been recently told that I could have Invisalign treatment to solve my crooked teeth problem. I am so relieved with this news as my teeth are really quite severely crooked. However my dentist started talking about attachments and buttons in order to make them more effective. I don’t understand and when I asked questions about what they were and why I needed them, my dentist was very vague in answering them and gave me no real answer. Could you give me an overview of what these attachments or buttons are and why I would ever need these? I thought the big selling point of Invisalign was that it was invisible and simple with no ‘attachments’. Thank you in advance for you advice.

I Think Invisalign Is Making My Crown Loose. What Shall I Do?

May 14th, 2014
Q.

Hey guys. I started Invisalign 3 weeks ago, but I’m now having a problem. I had a dental crown fitted a few years ago and now, with Invisalign treatment, it feels like it’s starting to come loose. I think it’s due to the aligners. If I touch it, it feels very loose. What shall I do?

Is A Retainer Always Necessary With Invisalign?

May 13th, 2014
Q.

Hello Dr Akere. I’ve been considering Invisalign but I have a few questions first. Is a retainer always needed after the aligners? Are the aligners completely invisible? I used to have fixed braces and was picked on for them constantly, I don’t want it to happen again! Thank you in advance.

I Have Sensitive Teeth. Will Invisalign Irritate My Teeth And Gums?

April 25th, 2014
Q.

Hello there Dr. Solanki. I do hope you can help me. I’m 26 years old and I have quite badly crooked teeth and I have wanted to do something about them for a long time. However, my teeth are very sensitive to most things, I’m afraid that the Invisalign treatment (which I would prefer as they are hardly noticeable) would irritate my gums and teeth. Do you think that it would affect my teeth, and what would you suggest is the best orthodontic route for someone with sensitive teeth?

My Teeth Are Sliding Back Into There Original Position After Wearing Braces. What Treatment Options Should I Have?

November 18th, 2013
Q.

Hi Dr Manoloutsou. I had train track braces when I was a little girl and got really bullied because of them but unfortunately they were the only ones my mum could afford. It has been about 10 years since I had them removed and I can see my teeth sliding back to their old position. I don’t want to go through wearing fixed braces again and I could just need a quick fix or a bonded retainer perhaps? Is there anything you can suggest please? Thank you for your time, I await your advice.

Why have my Invisalign brace stopped working?

October 24th, 2012
Q.

I started wearing Invisalign braces 7 months ago. The first 3 months went fine, but since then there has been absolutely no progress as the braces stopped fitting correctly after retainer number 7, creating a gap between the retainer and my most prominent tooth. I have now had a refinement to try and correct this and am on brace 2 of 24 of these, but the same problem has occurred again already, with a small gap appearing. I am also worried as my front four teeth now have a pitted appearance, which I think might be enamel erosion caused by the brace. I wear the braces for at least 22 hours a day so don’t understand why they are not working. I feel like my treatment is not working and is actually damaging my teeth. Can you offer any advice? Many thanks for your time.

Will my wisdom tooth affect my Invisalign treatment?

July 23rd, 2012
Q.

Hello,
I had a consultation with a private dentist about 7 months ago about getting Invisalign. I am 17 years old and although I was offered metal braces on the NHS I have managed to save enough money to get Invisalign instead.
Everything was fine during the consultation and I am due back in a few weeks to start the process and have impressions made but my wisdom tooth has started to come through in a strange way, well not straight and is quite sore. I could go to the emergency dentist to have it taken out ASAP or do you think I should talk to the dentist doing my Invisalign and delay it a bit? I don’t want the wisdom tooth to affect my Invisalign treatment.
