Hi Dr Kumar. I was wondering whether you could help me or offer some advice. I don’t think Invisalign is working for me. I’ve kept the aligners in as advised by my orthodontist but they’re hurting so much. I haven’t taken them out apart from when I’m cleaning my teeth because the orthodontist advised me not to. But they’re honestly really hurting, I didn’t think the pain would be this bad. I’m only 6 weeks into it, my orthodontic said to expect discomfort but I find myself constantly taking pain killers, is this normal? Thank you for your time.

Dear enquirer. I am sorry to hear that you are experiencing some discomfort. All orthodontic systems will cause teeth to be a little uncomfortable with the movements. Sometimes the teeth are a little sensitive. Try to eat softer foods during this period. The discomfort should get better over time though as the teeth move into position. It is not an uncommon problem. Raj Kumar.
