I have a dental implant, will I be suitable for Invisalign

Q.
hello doctors,

do you think i would be suitable for invisalign, i recently suffered and accident and now have an implant with a post, but the rest of my teeth really need straightening but i am afraid that i will cause damage to the implant. The rest of my teeth are pretty spaced out, with little gaps everywhere, so i want things tightening up.
in your opinion even though I have an implant would I be a viable candidate for invisalign? thank you for your time

A.
Hi there,

Even though you have a dental implant it may be possible to still straighten the rest of your teeth. The implant is fused to the jaw bone and therefore will not move however it would be advisable to try to limit the pressure on this area during treatment. I would certainly advise a consultation with an Invisalign doctor who has a great deal of experience with the system and also with treating similar cases to yours. Straightening your teeth may carry a slight increase in risk of damage to the implant which you will need to decide is acceptable or not.
