I have been told I am borderline for Invisalign. Should I get a second opinion?

Q. I’ve been for a consultation for invisalign and been told that I’m borderline – leaning towards it not being suitable. I’m confused as i have overcrowding and potentially 3 teeth needing to be extracted. My teeth are generally straight so i thought i would be suitable. Would you recommend getting a second opinion and / or what alternatives are they?,
A. I would recommend that you get a second opinion from an experienced Invisalign dentist. There are occasions where Invisalign (removable brace system) finds it difficult to move teeth sideways to close gaps that have been created by removing teeth. It depends on the surrounding teeth and current position of the teeth. Fixed braces would do be far more reliable method to do this however the braces can not be removed.
