My Aligners Have Changed My Bite, What Should I Do?

Q.
Hello, Doctor Thorne, I hope you can help me with this. I have recently had invisalign and I noticed that my bite did change during the treatment but I had assumed that it was because of the aligners affecting my bite. But I’ve stopped treatment now and the problem is still there. my molars dont touch at all and it feels so weird and just not right. Can you do something about this or am i stuck with this problem forever. I did ask my dentist if it would have any effect on my bite and he said it wont have any affect on your bite at all. any advice you can give would be great. Thanks,
A.
Hi
Sometimes by covering your teeth with aligners they adjust the bite level of the teeth (known as intruding the molar teeth). This can be resolved usually by covering only your front teeth with aligners or a part retainer, causing them to fall back into place. I would speak to your dentist about correcting this.
Good luck
