My Teeth Have Relapsed, What Can Be Done?

August 5th, 2014
Q.

Hi Dr Thorne. I had Invisalign treatment 2 years ago, but I don’t think I wore the aligners for as long as I should have, I mean I would take them out quite often when I probably shouldn’t have, and I didn’t wear the retainers every night. My teeth weren’t really that bad but still enough of a problem for me to have braces to straighten them. I think my teeth have relapsed slightly, as there is a slight overlap between my top 2 teeth. What can be done about this?

Can I Switch From Damon Braces to 6 Month Smiles?

June 17th, 2014
Q.

Hello, I was wondering if it’s possible to switch treatments. I recently had Damon braces fitted, but then I found out about 6 Month Smiles afterwards and they sound better. Can I have the Damon braces removed and replaced with 6 Month Smiles? The reason I’ve got braces is to adjust my front teeth into a better position. The lower 2 and upper 3 are slightly crooked and I’ve previously had 3 teeth removed.

6 Month Smiles Or Invisalign – Which Would Be Best For Me?

May 6th, 2014
Q.

When I was 17, I had fixed braces but I wasn’t keen on them at all. I now have front bottom teeth that overlap (I’m 28 now) and I’m not sure why this has occurred but obviously I want to sort it out! I don’t want to spend a lot of money, and I’ve heard that 6 Months Smiles is a cheaper option than Invisalign – but which treatment would be best for me? Also, are consultations free, and do they include teeth whitening? Thanks in advance.

I’ve Been To A Number Of Consultations And They Say I Need Braces To Straighten Just One Tooth, Is This Necessary?

September 30th, 2013
Q.

Hello! I think I have a problem regarding orthodontistry. I’ve been to a number of consultations now and every time I’ve been recommended a different type of brace so I don’t know what to do! All I want is one front tooth treating, it’s currently twisted quite badly but it’s the only one that I want treating at the moment. I’ve been recommended for 6 month smiles and Invisalign but I only want the one tooth fixing so I feel these two options are a bit over the top and extreme in the least. Is there anything you can recommend for the treatment of just the one tooth? Thank you!

I have an overbite, which braces should I get?

February 4th, 2011
Q.
Hello, I have an overbite with some crowding. The best way I can think to describe the situation is that the top two front teeth have grown slightly in front of the teeth either side due to me having a narrow bridge! I have been told Invisalign was not suitable after having me details sent to America by a practitioner in Stafford! Would it be worth getting a second opinion as I imagine my details will again be sent to the same place? Will something such as Clearstep be an option? I really don’t like the idea of having a fixed brace and not just because of the appearance but also because of actually having something fixed permanently in my mouth for a period of time.,

I am now in my forties and have a problem with teeth that protrude. I hate opening my mouth and am always covering it with my hand. I don’t laugh ever. Before I reach another milestone I would love to get the straight teeth I have always wanted. Can anything be done to help me? What is your advice please?,

When I had a consultation for 6 month smiles the dentist said the treatment wasn’t ideal. Could you advise?

November 24th, 2010
Q.
hi, I am trying to decide between invisalign and 6 month smile. I already had a consultation for invisalign and the dentist said i may only be 50% happy as it could sort out my wonky teeth at bottom but not maybe my overjet of two topfront teeth due to crowding. he said ideally fixed braces would be a better solution(as in 12-18 month ones) Another dentist offers 6 month smile. Could this be any more effective with overjet? both are offered as part of groupon deals so costs would work out same about 1400 pounds. Thankyou!,
