Should My Aligners Feel This Loose?

September 2nd, 2014
Q.

Hello Dr Sepehrara. I’ve got a small problem but I don’t want to ignore it in case it’s really important and ruins my whole treatment. It doesn’t feel like my aligners are fitting properly. My first set really hurt my gums and I was really aware of them, and my gums only stopped hurting when I started with the next set. I’m still on the 2nd set but they feel quite loose, like there’s no strain at all. Is this normal, or should I feel more pressure? I don’t think they fit right in comparison with my first set. What do you think?

My Aligners Won’t Fit?!

January 16th, 2013
Q.

Hello, Doctor Thorne I hope you can give me some advice. and I have been using the Invisalign teen for a while now and so far nothing has gone wrong, I’ve had no problems with any of the aligners or with my teeth in general. I was on number fifteen of sixteen of the aligners and I was supposed to change my trays to number sixteen on the top teeth but when I went to change them over, I could not get the sixteen to fit on my teeth! What do you think I should do about it and what will my orthodontist have to do about it? Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance, I look forward to reading your response

If my aligner does not fit correctly can this be fixed in one appointment?

January 5th, 2011
Q.
Hi, I’ve just attempted to fit my second upper aligner and it is a perfect fit everywhere apart from the very back left where it hangs off the teeth quite badly. I’ve made an appt with my ortho for tomorrow and put aligner 1/14 back in for the time being. I can see by placing alingers 1 and 2 side by side on a flat surface that the general balance of the two are quite different, as if aligner two is somehow warped out of shape (aligner 1 fit perfectly). The best way I can desribe it is to say it’s the same as sometimes happens with a pair of glasses as the stems get bent out of shape over time and then the glasses don’t sit flat on a surface. My question in fact is whether this is something that can possibly be corrected by my ortho at the clinic tomorrow or if it will mean waiting for a replacement from California? I’m really hoping it won’t be the latter as this will of course delay the whole process significantly. Thanks very much for any feedback you can offer.,

I am now on my tenth of twenty-two aligners and it doesn’t fit. What should I do?

I have my new aligner in, it\’s number 10/22 on the upper arch and it just doesn\’t fit. I can\’t get it in at all, it seems too small so I don\’t know what to do, i asked my orthodontist and she said I had the correct tray! Should I go back to my old aligner for a bit (the previous one?),
