Why won’t Invisalign Lite work to close the gaps in my daughters teeth?

November 6th, 2012
Q.

My 17 year old daughter has been given a treatment plan for Invisalign and Invisalign Lite. The dentist has repeatedly tried to steer us to the full Invisalign treatment, which costs almost double. He has said that if we went with Invisalign Lite, “it would look fine.” He has offered us “14 aligners to align the front teeth better improve the vertical dimension to provide more space for future treatments, but this will not fully close the spaces between the extracted teeth.” The extracted teeth were baby teeth (ur3 and ul3) that were removed because my daughter had two ingrown upper canines that were impinging on the roots of her two front upper teeth. We just don’t seem to understand why he tells us that Invisalign Lite won’t close the spaces at the front.

My 11 year old daughter still has some baby teeth, would she be able to have Invisalign?

August 25th, 2011
Q.

Hi there,

I have a 11 year old daughter whose teeth are in pretty bad shape and I was wondering if she would be able to get the invisalign treatment? It is her two front teeth which are the worse, as they are bucked due to a dummy she has when she was younger, and are slightly gapped. They are both her adult teeth but she does have a few teeth which are still in the baby stage. In your opinion is 11 too young for braces and if so when would be the best age or stage? I just want her to have nice teeth to avoid any potential future tauntings.

thanks for your time doctor

My daughter would like Invisalign but still has baby teeth. What can be done?

June 1st, 2011
Q.

Hello Dr Raj Kumar. My daughter of the young age of thirteen has two permanent teeth which currently overlap quite alot and there is an abundance of crooked and overcrowded baby teeth. She desperately wants braces but the problem is that not all of her teeth have come through so this leaves me wondering what can I actually do??? she would like them as soon as possible and is very embarrassed and ashamed of her teeth. Can you please advise on the situation?

If my bottom molars are baby teeth will invisalign be able to correct spaces at the back?

January 5th, 2011
Q.
Hi, I’m supposed to be getting my impressions made in a few weeks. I have very straight teeth with little spaces in between and a little more space in between the bottom teeth as my first molars are baby teeth. My dentist mentioned to me that Invisalign might leave spaces in the back of my mouth before my molars. Now this is making me extremely hesitant as why would I pay to have the spaces removed and shifted to the back of my mouth. I have a big smile so I’m worried I’d be able to see them. Is this normal??,

December 16th, 2010
Q.
I am a 25 year old female and my teeth are misaligned and I have been looking to straighten my teeth for ages now. I have been advised Invisalign but I am unhappy because I have been told that I will need to remove my upper canine. Would you say this is necesary? Have you had any experience with this? How long would this take? One canine is fully grown but the other has the adult tooth brhind a baby tooth.,
