Is My Dentist Trying To Con Me With Expensive Braces Costs?

August 9th, 2013
Q.

Hi Adam, here’s my problem: I personally don’t think I need braces, I’m convinced that a couple of veneers would simply do the trick. I think my dentist is trying to con me, I don’t know how to go about approaching the subject. I’ve already expressed my concerns because the gap is tiny but he’s saying I need fixed braces! Can you please advise me, honestly, I don’t think I’m going to get the right treatment. He says I’ll have to wear them for at least a year!

I have had Invisalign for two years and still no results. What can be done?

May 11th, 2011
Q.

I have been receiving Invisalign treatment – I am un happy with the results and the dentist carrying out the process. Was initially told it would take 6 months to a year and it is now nearly 2 years. Have had 3 sets of refinements, teeth still move during the day with gaps appearing and still have crossed lower teeth. Dentist now suggests veneers? – I would rather have straight natural teeth which is what I have paid the £3500 for. Can’t find anywhere to complain. Not sure what to do next. Please can you offer some advice.

Would you opt for Invisalign and whitening over veneers?

March 28th, 2011
Q.

I want to straighten/whiten my teeth. My dentist as recommneded Invisalign followed by whitening. I can’t really see the advantage of this over just whacking in a mouthful of veneers. What do you think?

Should I get veneers or Invisalign to fix my crooked teeth?

March 24th, 2011
Q.

my front top teeth are crooked and two of my other teeth overlap. i really want to get this sorted out but i’m not sure of the best way. i am looking at veneers or invisalign, the good thing about veners is they will be quick but i’m worried about having to get them replaced, would invisalign have more permanent results??,

How can gaps be closed without moving front teeth back?

March 23rd, 2011
Q.

Hello!

I have multiple gaps in both the upper and lower arches of my teeth. I also have a slight overbite, but I don’t believe it is of any concern. My smile is narrow , but I have a large mouth and jaw! The teeth and gaps currently fit well in my mouth and jaw so my concern is that by pushing my teeth back to close all my gaps, my arches will become to narrow and that will have an adverse affect on my mouth/lip shape, and something will not look right when it is all said and done! I forgot to mention that I am a 38 year old female. Do you have any thoughts on this that might be helpful to ease my concerns?

Thank you for your time

Would you advise that I go with Invisalign or veneers for my buck teeth and overbite?

November 29th, 2010
Q.
I am in a muddle to go with two different treaments: buck teeth are my problem and there is also issues with an overbite. I know Invisalign should be able to help but is there any chance veneers could be used? What would be your recommendation? Is there a big gap in price?,

I have been told I can have Invisalign or veneers for my protruding teeth. Which would you recommend?

November 10th, 2010
Q.
When i was younger i had braces but then had them removed because the pain was too bad. thinking back on it i wish i hadn\’t been such a wimp as my front teeth now protrude forward more than ever before and i look like a bunny. I have been told either the treatment this site is about would do or i can go for something like veneers?? If you can give your opinion i would value it.,

October 21st, 2010
Q.
Its the two teeth next to my front teeth that are causing me problems. They are crooked and protrude forward. in your professional opinion would I be better to go with invisalign or a veneer? from what I have heard braces can sometimes go wrong and the results dont last? Woudl veneers provide more permament results?,
