Hi. If I am not pleased with my dentist for any reason, can I continue my Invisalign with a different dentist? I have really critical concerns about her and I don’t know who to talk to. She said that I should wash my mouth with bleach and water! I thought she was joking but she was not!

Hello Dr Sepehrara. I have been recently told that I could have Invisalign treatment to solve my crooked teeth problem. I am so relieved with this news as my teeth are really quite severely crooked. However my dentist started talking about attachments and buttons in order to make them more effective. I don’t understand and when I asked questions about what they were and why I needed them, my dentist was very vague in answering them and gave me no real answer. Could you give me an overview of what these attachments or buttons are and why I would ever need these? I thought the big selling point of Invisalign was that it was invisible and simple with no ‘attachments’. Thank you in advance for you advice.

Hi Dr Thorne. I am 25 years old, and since last year I’ve noticed a gap between my front teeth, which I’m really embarrassed about. I no longer smile on photos because it just looks horrific. Hello Dr Akere. I’ve been considering Invisalign but I have a few questions first. Is a retainer always needed after the aligners? Are the aligners completely invisible? I used to have fixed braces and was picked on for them constantly, I don’t want it to happen again! Thank you in advance.

Hello Dr Patel, I am interested and very attracted to the idea of invisalign for my daughter, instead of fixed, metal bracket braces. My daughter is only 17 and has unfortunately crooked teeth but is otherwise very beautiful and currently doing some modelling work. We believe she could go far in this career but she will need to have her teeth sorted. We would like to have this done with invisible braces or even braces that can be removed like invisalign. However, one of her canine teeth on the lower set it rotated almost 45 degrees, can this be fixed through invisalign and can she get them free on the NHS?
Hello doctor Thorne, I am very concerned about my teeth. I have very crooked teeth and have been wanting to sort them out for years. I am now consulting with my dentist to have some orthodontic work done to fix my teeth. I absolutely dont want to have my teeth in metal braces as i dont wish my appearance to compromise peoples opinions of me particularly in work. However, I just dont fully understand how invisalign and the other invisible braces really work and if they can really be as successful in straightening your teeth as the mental fixed braces as my teeth are really very very crooked. I have wanted braces treatment for a while now because my teeth buck inwards at the top and my bottom front teeth are crooked. I was looking into whether the Inman Aligner or Invisalign would be suitable as I want a discreet look for my job.
I haven’t had any consultations yet about this as I want to be in a financially stable situation before I proceed.
The problem I have now is that during a rugby match someone knocked out one of my teeth and I had to have an emergency appointment at a dentist near where I was playing.
How will this affect my braces treatment? The emergency dentist cleaned the area and gave me antibiotics and briefly discussed my options.
Any advice would be much appreciated. Thank you.

I just wanted to inquire about invisalign for younger patients. My son is 13 years old and his teeth have come through very crookedly and now that they are all through I thought it would be time to do something about it to help boost his confidence. I really like the thought of him wearing invisalign, as it is invisible and he won’t be made to feel as awkward as he would wearing big metal braces-so my question is even though he is 13 would be be able to get invisalign and from how I have described his condition in this message do you think invisalign is the best treatment for him?

I have slightly bucked teeth at the top and have never received treatment to sort them out. I am 23 and I feel more self concious now. I have a dentist on the NHS who said a brace should sort it out but I didn’t realise there were so many different types these days. I like the sound of Invisalign but can you wear them just on the upper teeth and if the problem isn’t too severe would it take less time to work? Thank you for your help,

Hello,
I currently wear a metal brace on both my upper and lower teeth which was done on the NHS. I have recently come into some money and would like to switch to a more discreet brace and I have been reading about them online such as Invisalign and the Inman aligner but my main worry is that as I have been wearing metal braces for over a year I won’t be able to switch.
