Can Crowns Be Used to Straighten Teeth?

June 18th, 2014
Q.

Hello, I have a question to ask. I’m 65 years old and have been to see my dentist about having my teeth straightened. I assumed he would suggest braces of some sort, but he wants to do it by using crowns – 20 of them! He told me that my teeth won’t move easily with a brace, but when they’ve been crowned they will be re-aligned, so not crooked anymore. I just thought I’d come to you for a second opinion. Can teeth be straightened with crowns?

Will Invisalign Stop Me From Clenching My Teeth?

May 15th, 2014
Q.

My dentist office recently recommended Invisalign as a treatment to straighten my slightly misaligned teeth. They told me that with this treatment it will stop my clenching once my teeth are aligned. Is this true or would it be best to just keep using dental guards when I sleep? My teeth have only a slight misalignment that most people wouldn’t even notice.

What braces would be best to treat teeth that have relapsed?

March 15th, 2010
Q.
When I was younger I had fixed braces and this involved getting four teeth removed toward the back of my mouth. Sadly, my teeth have gradually moved back to their original position, particularly my front teeth. There are a few brace systems I have read about like Invisalign, Inman Aligner and 6 Month Smiles. Would you happen to know which one would be most suitable for my particular condition? Any advice you can offer would be greatly appreciated.,
