I started wearing Invisalign braces 7 months ago. The first 3 months went fine, but since then there has been absolutely no progress as the braces stopped fitting correctly after retainer number 7, creating a gap between the retainer and my most prominent tooth. I have now had a refinement to try and correct this and am on brace 2 of 24 of these, but the same problem has occurred again already, with a small gap appearing. I am also worried as my front four teeth now have a pitted appearance, which I think might be enamel erosion caused by the brace. I wear the braces for at least 22 hours a day so don’t understand why they are not working. I feel like my treatment is not working and is actually damaging my teeth. Can you offer any advice? Many thanks for your time.

I have completed an Invisalign treatment. At least that’s what the dentist says. I still have a lower canine which is leaning slightly in front of the teeth next door. I was hoping to get it straightened but the dentist told me that canine cannot be moved because the root is too big. Is it true? If so, shouldn’t I have been told before I agreed to the treatment? Looking at picture, my teeth are nowhere near as bad as the case study.Thank you for taking the time to read my question and I look forward to reading your reply. Thanks.

hello dr
is it usual for invisalign treatment to take longer than was first diagnosed-so to speak! I though it would only be twelve months, but now my dentist wants me to have another two months of braces. I just wanted to make sure tht this was common practice mainly because i think my teeth look perfect now. What do you think is my best course of action?
thank you for your help on the matter,

Hi, I started invisalign 2 years ago to correct some wonky teeth at the top and bring forward one bottom tooth at the front which was behind the others. I had 33 aligned for the top and 25 for the bottom. Although my teeth looked better (but not perfect after the first course) I was unable to bite my back teeth together and so I was offered a course of refiners – a further 9 for the bottom and 15 for the top. I am just on my last top refiner but still my back teeth appear to be nowhere near meeting. Plus my top teeth are still not in a smooth curve at the front with one of my front teeth slightly forward of the other. I am worried as the first set of refiners did not correct my bite (which was fine before I started any treatment) and I am still not happy with the overall appearance of my teeth.
What are my options, what should I be saying to my dentist in 2 weeks?
Thanks,

Hi, I have one wonky tooth next to my two front teeth (before the brace it was almost on its side) and am 3/4 way through my invisalign treatment. the tooth has rotated quite a lot since last march when i first got the braces but I’ve had to have a refinement due to a space in the bottom on the tray where the attachments didn’t fit as the tooth wasn’t moving down. Now on my refinement trays (14 new ones) the gap had returned. Is there any advice on what I can do? Thanks, for your time doctor thorne

hello doctor Thorne
Could you explain a little bit more about adjustments with invisalign braces? My dentist tells me that I need further work, longer than he estimated when i first got the braces and I just wanted to make sure that that was a normal thing to do and that I am not being lead on with further treatment.
Is is normal to have extra work to my teeth after the designated time?
thank you doctor for your time

hello doctor could you please tell me how refinements work at the end of my invisalign treatment. will they cost me much more than what i was expected to pay or do refinements come as part of the overall cost?
thank you very much for your time

hello doctors,
i hope you are having a good day
i just wanted to ask about invisalign lite. What exactly is the difference between invisalign and invisalign lite? I suffer from mild buck teeth which i don’t think would take too much to correct so what do you think would be the best treatment for me? Is one for more complex conditions that the other?
Thank you for your time and any help you can give doctors

I have been receiving Invisalign treatment – I am un happy with the results and the dentist carrying out the process. Was initially told it would take 6 months to a year and it is now nearly 2 years. Have had 3 sets of refinements, teeth still move during the day with gaps appearing and still have crossed lower teeth. Dentist now suggests veneers? – I would rather have straight natural teeth which is what I have paid the £3500 for. Can’t find anywhere to complain. Not sure what to do next. Please can you offer some advice.
