Will Red Wine Stain My Teeth If I Brush My Teeth Straight After?

Q.
Hello. I’m a big red wine drinker, love the stuff. I have been told by various people that red wine will stain the Invisalign aligners, and actually the teeth themselves if you drink red wine whilst wearing the aligners. I just thought I’d ask, would my teeth still be stained if I brushed my teeth straight after drinking it (without the aligners in of course)? Thanks in advance.

Hello, thanks for your question. Either way, red wine will stain your teeth. It’s actually not advisable to brush your teeth directly after drinking wine as it can damage the enamel. If you do drink wine, rinse your mouth out with water straight afterwards and wait 30 minutes – 1 hour before brushing.
