Would Invisalign be suitable for me as I grind my teeth?

Q.
Hi there.
I would very much like to have Invisalign treatment on a few slightly off teeth that are not quite in line or straight enough. The problem I have is that I grind my teeth quite a lot at night. A couple of my teeth are quite worn down at the back but these are not the teeth I wish to treat. I am worried that my tooth grinding will harm the aligners and I will have to keep paying for more to be made?
If this is the case, what would you suggest as an alternative to Invisalign as I would like something very discreet if possible. Thank you for your help, I look forward to your reply.

Hi
You change aligners every two weeks so it is unlikely that you will grind through them in this time frame (I have treated lots of tooth grinders with Invisalign before without problems). Your alternative for discreet braces could be fixed inside (lingual) braces such as Incognito. You should have your jaw joint (TMJ) checked before orthodontic treatment and long term you may need a bite protector (known as a splint) once your teeth are straight. You may also find that if the teeth are in a better position and the bite is improved you may stop grinding all together!
Good luck
