Are Braces Dependant On What Age You Are? I’m 65, But I’m Not Sure Whether I Can Get Braces?

Q.
Hello Dr Kumar. I’m 65 years old and recently lost my wife. I have always hated how misaligned my teeth were but they’re in such good condition (minus them being out of line) I’m a proud owner of a full set of teeth! I would love braces now and can see how much they’ve changed since I was a little lad. I feel I may be too old for braces now? What do you think? I don’t want to spend months in braces only to have my teeth fall out. Any advice you can provide me with on this matter would be fab. Thank you in advance!

Dear Sir,
I am sorry for your loss.
Your teeth seem to be healthy and stable and you would like them re-aligned.
Without seeing your teeth it is hard to give you an answer, but Invisalign done with an expert, would be suitable for most patients and you would not lose your teeth.
A full examination is recommended. Your age does not matter as I have treated a 75 year old. I hope this information helps you. Dr Raj Kumar BDSLDSRCS.
