Are Invisalign braces suitable for people with crowns on their teeth?

Q.
I have had a root canal done on a front tooth, and then a crown on top of that. I also have other teeth that have a root canal, with a post in place (no crown). Are either of these cases problems for Invisalign? I’m reading that a crown is not much of a problem, but what about those teeth with the posts?
A.
Hi,

The main issue here is how strong and healthy are the affected teeth. This certainly needs to be carefully assessed by an Invisalign doctor prior to deciding if invisalign is for you. Usually Invisalign can be used on root filled teeth, teeth with strong posts and although not ideal, on crowned teeth. I would strongly recommend a detailed consultation with an Invisalign doctor where your teeth can be assessed for suitability.

Many Thanks,
