Can I correct my overbite with braces alone?

Q. i have a large overbiet and been told that i should have my jaw broekn and moved into place. can i not just have braces ti move the teeth back?,

A. You can have just your teeth treated without surgery but the result is then limited to your existing jaw position. The over bite can not be fully corrected by braces alone.
