Can invisalign sort out crossbite?

Q.
hello Dr Thorne

I had a brace a few years back, for a crossbite. My dentist didn’t give me a retainer so now my teeth have started to drift back into their old horrible position. Is invisalign able to treat this type of problem and once I have had the treatment can i have a retainer, preferably one that is fitted to the back of the teeth? How much do you think this would cost?

thank you Dr

A.
Hi
If the crossbite is minor then Invisalign can correct this, if more extensive or the jaws are not fully aligned then Invisalign may struggle.
You will definitely need a retainer after treatment to prevent a further relapse, your dentist will advise you on the best type depending on the positon of your teeth now and after treatment.
Costs are difficult to give without seeing you but an estimate may be £4000-5000 but maybe more if further treatment is required.
Good luck
