Dr Thorne, do you think it possible for my 12 year old boy to have invisalign? I can see that he is developing some problems with his teeth, such as a large gap between his front teeth and a slightly off bite. I would really like to help him receive treatment before he becomes too self conscious, but I obviously don’t want to be potentially damage his teeth.

He may still be a little young and it depends on the teeth that have erupted. Invisalign do have a product called Invisalign Teen that allows for growth whilst treating this age group. Often when his canines (‘eye-teeth’) come down they squeeze the front teeth together and reduce some spacing here.
I would suggest you arrange an appointment with an orthodontist with good Invisalign experience. If he is too young they will be able to monitor his growth and advise you when to return for treatment.
