Fixed braces or Invisalign for a crossbite?

Q. I have a crossbite and an orthodontist told me that i need to get on braces asap because i’m already 18. he also said that i needed surgery to move my lower jaw back. Can i still get invisalign before that surgery? Or that i have to just go with regular braces?,
A. You may need fixed braces to move the lower jaw back and to splint the jaw after the operation. If your orthodontist has mentioned fixed braces then I would go for that option Dr R Kumar BDSLDSRCS

hello, im 17 and really feel that i am in need of braces. I have two front teeth which are crossing over each other, and then gaps between some of my teeth. Would you recommend invisalign as a valid treatment or are traditional treatments the best way to go? What would be the general time frame of effectiveness for them both? many thanks
