I have been told that I need root canal surgery, will this effect my Invisalign treatment?

Q.
I chipped one of my front teeth a couple of years ago. At a recent check up I was told that there was permanent nerve damage and I may have to have a root canal.
I am in the process of saving up for Invisalign treatment which I was hoping to start soon. Could root canal work delay this and could starting orthodontic treatment with a newly done root canal have adverse consequences?
A.
Hi,
At our practice it is essential that all of our clients are dentally fit prior to starting with any form of orthodontic treatment including Invisalign. We insist that all outstanding dental treatment is completed prior to the manufacture of the INVISALIGN ALIGNERS.
If your Dentist is recommending that Root Canal Therapy is required upon your damaged tooth then I would suggest that you have this work carried out as soon as possible so the tooth has chance to settle prior to the fabrication of your aligners, thus helping to reduce any subsequent delay.

I hope this helps.

Wishing you all the best with your Treatment
