Is there anyway to shorten the treatment time of my Invisalign braces?

Q.
hello doctor,

i have started wearing my aligners and it has been about 4 weeks so am stll on my second aligner. There was a point with the first aligner, where is wasn’t becoming as loose as the dentist told me it would and i wondered if i could do anything to ensure that the brace is working at its optimum level. My friend has told me about some mouth guard thing, i think it is called exceldent or something that speeds up the action of braces. Have you come across it and would you recommend it?

thank you

A.
Hi
Yes, you can use something simple such as Aligner Chewies (a small foam roll that you bite on for about a minute each time you put your aligner in and beds the aligner down (your dentist should be able to provide you some). Or there is a product called Acceledent, which is a vibrating mouthpiece that you bite on for 20 minutes every evening. This has been shown to reduce treatment time by up to 30% and costs around £600-£800.
Good luck
