Q. hello dr Akere i dont know if I should have lumineers or invisalign my cosmetic dentist who is based in harpenden has said that i should have lumineers but i am worried that they will need to drill my teeth but he said its the best way and fasted way to get straight teeth. I have said i want invisalign but he says this wont work. Also he said with lumineers he wont need to drill my teeth he will simply “stick” them on top of my teeth and i can remove them later. It is true that he wont need to drill my teeth and that invisalign is not an option or could i have invisalign first and then have lumineers after if i am still not happy thanks
A.
Hello,
Invisalign can be used to straighten most forms of crooked teeth as well as closing gaps.
It sounds like you will be better off having your teeth aligned first before considering lumineers.
Lumineers has its merit in closing gaps and masking worn down teeth
In most cases some drilling is involved especially if its a case of crowding
My advise is for you to see someone who does invisalign for their opinion before making your decision.
If I can be of further help please feel free to contact me.
