How will a missing tooth affect my braces treatment?

June 1st, 2012
Q.

I have wanted braces treatment for a while now because my teeth buck inwards at the top and my bottom front teeth are crooked. I was looking into whether the Inman Aligner or Invisalign would be suitable as I want a discreet look for my job.
I haven’t had any consultations yet about this as I want to be in a financially stable situation before I proceed.
The problem I have now is that during a rugby match someone knocked out one of my teeth and I had to have an emergency appointment at a dentist near where I was playing.
How will this affect my braces treatment? The emergency dentist cleaned the area and gave me antibiotics and briefly discussed my options.
Any advice would be much appreciated. Thank you.

I had a tooth replaced with an implant after an accident, not content with my smile will I be legible to use invisalign?

September 6th, 2011
Q.

hello doctors

i had an accident about a year ago now, where one of my teeth was knocked out. I had this replaced with an implant, which has settled in very nicely. However, i am still not content with my smile at all, which features two very ugly front nashers to everybody! would I be ok to have the invisalign treatment combined with the implant which is at the front of my mouth or would it impeed results??

thanks very much

I injured my tooth just before I was to begin Invisalign. Could I still go ahead with it?

June 6th, 2011
Q.

hello there doctor,

i wonder if you can tell me if I am ok to begin invisalign treatment. I was planning to go ahead with it when a few weeks ago I had a fall and impacted one of my front teeth. I had this thoroughly checked out by my dentist, who x-rayed the area to make sure there was no deep damage. He found this to be negative and said my tooth was fine and apart from the odd twinge here and there the tooth feels fine and I have been eating upon it. Do you think I could go ahead with Invisalign in this point in time? I am quite eager to get started towards a better smile but obviously do not want to compromise my overall oral health. What is your opinion doctor? I have booked an appointment with my other doctor just to make sure but the more advice the better in my opinion. Thank you very much for your time.
