Will painful tooth need to be treated and will this have an effect on my Invisalign treatment?

Q. my 6 month check up is coming up with my regular dentist and i am worried about a particular tooth in my mouth which i have been having pain with. the real problem is that i have invisalign and if that tooth was to need any treatment then this woulf affect my invisalign treatment? if this is the case would it be possible to put off treatment for the tooth? there is four months left of invisalign but that doesnt include if there is any need for refinemtnets. Thank you doctor.,
A. Hello, Your general dentist will diagnose the problem and will suggest treatment on your painful tooth. If that treatment does not change the shape of the tooth (and you can fit your aligner on it)- then you probably will not need to restart Invisalign. You might want to mention the problematic tooth to both your Invisalign Provider and to your General Dentist.
