Would Invisalign be able to limit the time I would need to wear metal braces?

Q. Hi Dr Kumar, I was told years ago that I had a protruding lower jaw and was advised that to correct my bite and other problems which may develop I would need braces on my top teeth to straighten them and \’put them in their correct position\’, followed by surgery on my lower jaw. As I already feel very concious of my smile without metal braces, I have been looking into alternative ways to straighten my teeth and invisalign really appeals to me. I know that to have the surgery, I will need metal braces at some point, however if I can use invisalign to straighten my top teeth enough to be able to drastically reduce the time I have to wear the metal braces before surgery I will be very pleased. Essentially, what I am asking is: is this possible? Would I be able to use invisalign to straighten my top teeth while I have a protruding lower jaw? Also, are there finance options which allow me to make monthly payments? If so, what are the company which provides the services (so that I can do some research) and would I be able to pay the monthly payments for a while, then at some point just pay the rest off in one go? (I am saving for a holiday, so just to be on the safe side would like to pay a small amount a month for the invisalign then pay the whole thing off when I get back). Thanks for your time!,
A. Dear Sir/Madam, many thanks for your enquiry. Invisalign can be used to correct the smaller upper jaw crowding. It is also possible to reduce the lower jaw protrusion as well with Invisalign. I am correcting a patient at the moment. We use Denplan Finance who will set up the payment plan/balloon payment. Best thing is for you to attend for a consultation and let me have a look.
