should i go back to a previous invisaign aligner

August 15th, 2009
Q.
Hello! I started invisalign this year. I am due to have 10U/14L. I am currently on 8U/8L but I am worried about my upper teeth so far and my dentist isn’t around to advise me. I changed onto liner 8 on Thursday night last week and I couldn’t get it to fit onto my canine button (I have a button on both canine teeth on the top). I played around with it for a while and thought I had it on and went to sleep. I woke up on Friday with the most incredible pain in my front two teeth – really sensitive. I took the liners out, had some breakfast and put them back in and again, thought they were on ok but at lunchtime I called my dentist. She was off sick and is at a conference all week this week. She said to go back to the previous liner but then I had lunch and again I thought I had it on correctly. I think I had it on correctly for the past two days but now today I am sure it’s not on properly. It’s so hard to tell. It doesn’t “click” in but if I get the iner matched up with my canine first and then fit the rest of the liner around it, that seems to do the trick…sometimes! I am convinced the liner isn’t made very well as I am religous about wearing my liners. I have an appointment to see my dentist in a weeks time – should I persevere or should I go back. Part of me thinks – go back. Another part of me thinks…hmm my teeth have stopped hurtnig and so must’ve moved successfully, would I be doing more damage than good by going back a step. So frustrating – yuor advice would be gratefully received! Helen

Im paying double price for invisalign

August 11th, 2009
Q.
Hi Simon I hope you dont mind me asking for your advice but I am already in the process of having invisalign treatment. I have had to have 19sets on the upper and 25 sets on the lower. So far I have paid all my treatment up front including suitabiltiy examination, clin check and lab fees. I also pay £105 (per set) for my aligners each time I visit my dentist for ongoing treatment. I am slightly concerned however that on my 20th treatment I am now only having one aligner fitted but am still paying double the price (£105 x 2). I understood it that now I am having only one aligner fitted the cost would be halved to £105 x 1. Please can you advise me if I am correct and where I can find the update information on prices.

What is the difference between Invisalign and Invisalign express

August 8th, 2009
Q.
Hi, I wore braces 6 years ago when i was 16 and have noticed that since the front teeth have began to move forward. After researching all the different othodontic treatments available i found that the invisalign express would definately be something i was interested becasue of the shorter time frame and the fact they are clear. However i cant seem to find a practice that knows the difference between the invisalign and invisalign express treatments. Could you recommend a practice to me please. Many Thanks
