Can I have invisalign treatment after I have had a dental implant?

Q.
hello

i have recently had an implant put in for one of my top teeth, it has been about a month since i had the treatment and i wondered if i could have invisalign now or should i wait sooner for the tooth to settle,
and will the tooth be alright with the invisalign treatment? it won’t be affected will it?

thanks

A.
Hi
You could have your impressions and records taken now for Invisalign as it would take about 2-3 weeks for the Clincheck to be returned (treatment simulation), then another 2-3 weeks before the first aligner is fitted. This is then 8-10 weeks after the implant has been placed which is enough time for the implant to ‘heal’. The Invisalign won’t affected the implant but this tooth won’t be moved and needs planning so the space where the implant crown is to be placed is kept (if you have a crown here already your dentist can specifically ask for this tooth not to be moved).
