I had a tooth replaced with an implant after an accident, not content with my smile will I be legible to use invisalign?

September 6th, 2011
Q.

hello doctors

i had an accident about a year ago now, where one of my teeth was knocked out. I had this replaced with an implant, which has settled in very nicely. However, i am still not content with my smile at all, which features two very ugly front nashers to everybody! would I be ok to have the invisalign treatment combined with the implant which is at the front of my mouth or would it impeed results??

thanks very much

I have a dental implant, will I be suitable for Invisalign

June 15th, 2011
Q.

hello doctors,

do you think i would be suitable for invisalign, i recently suffered and accident and now have an implant with a post, but the rest of my teeth really need straightening but i am afraid that i will cause damage to the implant. The rest of my teeth are pretty spaced out, with little gaps everywhere, so i want things tightening up.
in your opinion even though I have an implant would I be a viable candidate for invisalign? thank you for your time

Invisalign treatment has left my front tooth wobbly

May 12th, 2011
Q.

I wore invisalign for about 1 1/2 years. Prior to the treatment, I had no problems with my teeth at all. I began the treatment at the age of 49. Throughout the treatment I had noticed my teeth pretty loose.and one tooth continually loose. My dentist said that was normal, and not to address it until the treatment is completed. I now have a loose tooth right in front, and need to have it extracted, If I choose to have an implant, That will cost about 4,000 dollars, none of it covered by insurance. I was never told that moving the teeth could compromise the integrity of my teeth. I was told that I was a perfect candidate for invisalign. My question is.. Why don’t dentists tell you the possibilities of what could happen to your teeth? It’s very nice to have straighter teeth, but not at the expense of loosing one! How likely is it that the root of my tooth was going to deteriorate anyway? Again, I had no problems before, not even a cavity.

Should I have root canal treatment and an implant even though I am only 15 and my jaw hasn’t finished growing?

April 8th, 2011
Q.

I lost a tooth a couple of years ago playing rugby. My dentist managed to replace it, but since then it has needed a root canal and become ankylosed to the jaw bone and started resorbing. I have Invisalign at the moment (I am 15) and they are due to come off in a couple of months. My orthodontist thinks that I should leave the tooth in till I stop growing and then replace it immediately with an implant. He thinks that if I have the tooth out now by the time I get the implant I may have suffered bone loss. However my dentist thinks that because it is ankylosed it could be casuing jaw detoriation and the tooth should be removed as soon as I stop wearing my Invisalign. what do you think?
