Q. Hi I have had problems with TMJD for years (as well as crooked teeth!) I have heard that Invidalign can help with this. Would it either stop the pain from my TMJD or at least reduce/improve it? or should I look at other options?,
A. Sometimes orthodontic treatment does help with problems with the jaw if your malocclusion is so severe. If I was you, I would try a splint (most likely you will need a stabilisation splint) first, until your TMD is under control and you are pain free before you have any orthodontic treatment. As a fellow ex sufferer from TMD,I can tell you the stabilisation splint has worked wonders on me!
