Q. I am going to be having surgery on my jaw next month but am concerned about how long the healing process will take. I am a keen boxer and am just wondering how long it will be before I can get back in to the ring, so to speak?

The length of the healing process depends on numerous factors like the type of surgery, your jaw and post-op complications. You should talk to the surgeon after the operation. Even if everything heals very fast I would not jeopardize the success of the surgery with a potential boxing accident for a long time. You might want to wait until the first scan .
