I have extremely sensitive teeth but really need a brace, would I be suitable for the Invisalign treatment?

Q.
hi,

i have extremely sensitive teeth, with most specialised toothpaste having no effect at all. However, i do need orthodontic treatment on my top teeth and would prefer to have invisalign treatment as it seems the gentlest of all brace treatment. Would you say this is true and do you have any advice on helping sensitive teeth?

thanks

A.
I would recommend finding out what is the cause of your sensitivity first. Is it gum recession? Or are there any other issues there, ie decay, fractures, old fillings etc. If the cause of your sensitivity is gum recession then you need to find the causes, are you a smoker? do you see a hygienist regularly? do you brush too hard?Do you have too many fizzy drinks? Once you know the cause then your dentist can suggest the best form of treatment or the best product to use.

Invisalign is a gentle way of moving teeth but other options are Damon braces or Six month braces
