Hello Dr Manoloutsou. I have just finished my Invisalign treatment and I’m really not happy with the results, my two front teeth that were slightly bucked feel very loose. My orthodontist has said this is normal and they’ll settle in a couple of days of wearing the retainer. I’m not convinced and the area is very painful which is making me even more skeptical. Can you advise me please? Should I seek a second opinion?

Hi there! It is quite common for some of the teeth to feel a bit ‘loose’ after orthodontic movement, mine did as well. But they do settle afterwards, this is because they have been moved. Wearing the retainer is crucial to maintain the results and for the teeth not to relapse. If you are not happy with the position of the teeth, then please discuss it with your orthodontist, as refinement treatments are available providing the teeth can be moved further.
