I’m Not Very Happy With My Invisalign Treatment, My Teeth Feel Loose And Sore, Is This Normal?

October 7th, 2013
Q.

Hello Dr Manoloutsou. I have just finished my Invisalign treatment and I’m really not happy with the results, my two front teeth that were slightly bucked feel very loose. My orthodontist has said this is normal and they’ll settle in a couple of days of wearing the retainer. I’m not convinced and the area is very painful which is making me even more skeptical. Can you advise me please? Should I seek a second opinion?

Invisalign treatment has left my front tooth wobbly

May 12th, 2011
Q.

I wore invisalign for about 1 1/2 years. Prior to the treatment, I had no problems with my teeth at all. I began the treatment at the age of 49. Throughout the treatment I had noticed my teeth pretty loose.and one tooth continually loose. My dentist said that was normal, and not to address it until the treatment is completed. I now have a loose tooth right in front, and need to have it extracted, If I choose to have an implant, That will cost about 4,000 dollars, none of it covered by insurance. I was never told that moving the teeth could compromise the integrity of my teeth. I was told that I was a perfect candidate for invisalign. My question is.. Why don’t dentists tell you the possibilities of what could happen to your teeth? It’s very nice to have straighter teeth, but not at the expense of loosing one! How likely is it that the root of my tooth was going to deteriorate anyway? Again, I had no problems before, not even a cavity.

Since starting my invisalign treatment, I have noticed some very slight loosening of a few teeth with one in particular being much looser than any I have noticed before. Is this a normal occurrence or should I contact my orthodontist?,

Will the aligners make my dental implants become loose?

September 3rd, 2010
Q.
I have 2 dental implants in, I\’ve had them for around 3 years now. I know the braces that won\’t move the implants but I\’m just a bit worried that the aligners will make them come loose or make them fall out? Will this happen? Has it ever happened to one of your patients?,
