I have completed my treatment and am very happy with the results, but i haven’t been given a retainer. I thought that would be part of the cost, am I right in thinking that? I really don’t want to waste all the work and i really like the way my teeth look down how much is it to buy a retainer for my teeth? Is a removable one as good as one fixed to the back of the teeth?

It is essential you have a retainer – as you say you don’t want to waste all the good work and the teeth will drift back naturally. There are generally two types – a removable (if you had Invisalign as for the Vivera retainers) or a fixed retainer (small wire usually on the back of the front 6 teeth). They both have their pros and cons. They may or may not be included in the original cost and I would speak with you dentist, but get one as soon as possible to ensure you don’t suffer a relapse!!
