Is gingivectomy necessary to improve my gum line?

Q. hi, i’m undergoing Invisalign treatment at the moment and it is mainly going well. there is just one problem, I have two teeth where the gum line is lower then other teeth. My dentist recommended a gingivectomy but I am worried about the extra pain/cost that will come with this. i woild like my smile to be even but I’m a little bit worried, can you advise me?,
A. If the discrepancy of the gum line of those teeth compared to the rest is not big, then gingivectomy under local anesthetic would not be a problem and after the anesthetic wears off the discomfort is only minimal for a day or two. This will give a boost to your smile line. Although, if the gums don’t show when you smile broadly, you do not need to correct them.
