Q. I finished my fixed braces treaetment a year ago, and was given retainers to wear, and then only to wear at night after a time. I no longer need to wear the retainer, but do so sometimes as I can see one of my teeth moving back to its original position slightly. The dentist said this may happen a bit as my teeth were quite crooked. Should I just stop wearing the retainer and see what happens?
A.
Hello,
I am afraid teeth can move back after Orthodontic treatment. Once they move and you are not happy with the new situation the only way to correct it is to put the fixed braces back again. I would not take the risk so I would wear the removable retainer as often possible. Maybe you want to consider fixed lingual retainer instead?
