How can I contact Invisalign about transferring dentists?

November 7th, 2012
Q.

Dear Dr Thorne

I am in the position of needing to contact Invisalign direct but cannot find an email address for Invisalign customer services please?

My original orthodentist will not release my records to the new one and so I need to contact Invisalign direct to authorise them to arrange handing them over and to send another replacement final aligner urgently but I cannot find an email address to contact them. To telephone from the UK and try to find the right person to speak to would probably be very expensive .

I have had a horrible time with Invisalign I was prescribed them to prevent further bite erosion to the back my front upper teeth plus my orthodentist said they may as well incorperate some very minor evening out and a small crossover (none of which I was bothered about but as it was included I thought ‘why not?’) .

I am at the stage 1 year and 10 months (due to various delays and mistakes) and £4500 later (for just 10 lowers and 16 uppers) of finding that the retainers are a misnomer. Instead of holding the position of the last aligner they fight it & are sending /allowing my teeth back to where they were at the worst time with protruding buck teeth, large overbite and big gaps between visible teeth at the front.) Iwas happy enough with my teeth as they were and only took this route to save my front teeth so am upset and angry the fact that my smile will be ruined for no good reason unless I can resolve this quickly.

I eventually had to walk away from the original orthodentist who refused to return aligners to Invisalign at various times when they either did not fit or produced the horrendous results detailed above. A new practitioner has been sympathetic and helpful (especially as I was apparantly massively overcharged originally) taken impressions and supplied retainers which were not proved by the previous dentist. He replaced the first retainers FOC when they clearly weren’t maintiing position, but now the only option forward is either £800 to try more rigid retainers (which again may not work) or start a new course for £2500 which I can neither afford nor face after my past experience and living with the restricted lifestyle for so long.

I feel contacting Invisalign direct is the only answer as there have been errors and mistakes they are unaware of and so may be prepared to help with if informed.

Many thanks for any assistance you can offer

Is tea or coffee likely to have ramifications on the state of my Invisalign aligners?

February 9th, 2012
Q.

Hello and good day to you doctor I have recently been told about the dangers of the ‘sugar bath’ effect with invisalign aligners. Ive been told this is where you drink sugary drinks while wearing the aligners and the sugar all stays in the aligner, where it starts really getting to work on the teeth and not in a good way!. I’m not a fizzy pop drinker myself, but I do drink an awful lot of tea and coffee throughout the day and would very much so like to know if there be similar ramification with wearing the invisalign aligner and drinking coffe and tea and dental damage?

thank you doctor
