Is tea or coffee likely to have ramifications on the state of my Invisalign aligners?

Q.
Hello and good day to you doctor I have recently been told about the dangers of the ‘sugar bath’ effect with invisalign aligners. Ive been told this is where you drink sugary drinks while wearing the aligners and the sugar all stays in the aligner, where it starts really getting to work on the teeth and not in a good way!. I’m not a fizzy pop drinker myself, but I do drink an awful lot of tea and coffee throughout the day and would very much so like to know if there be similar ramification with wearing the invisalign aligner and drinking coffe and tea and dental damage?

thank you doctor

A.
if you wear aligners whilst drinking tea or coffee or any other hot drinks you will damage the aligners, which will then not fit well and not work as required and your treatment will be affected. If your aligners get damaged then you will also have to pay extra to have replacements made.
