Tooth discomfort following Invisalign has been found to be down to root resorption. Will I lose my tooth?

Q. I have completed two years of invisalign treatment and have recently began to feel discomfort in my front upper tooth. Closer inspection and an x ray has revealed that I have root loss leaving a jagged edge, the nerve is alive. However my invisalign orthodontist can not tell me anything about root resorption with any clarity. What would you advise? Will I lose my tooth?,
A. The movement of teeth through the bone can cause some slight resorption of the root. Usually the bosy cells will resorb the bone to make space for the tooth, but sometimes a little of the root is resorbed. It is usally a fraction and should not affect the nerve. DR R Kumar BDSLDSRCS
