Hi,

i have recently been having invisalign treatment until i started have horrible pain in on of top teeth. It turned out that i am suffering root absorption with about a quarter of the root gone. My dentist says i should stop the treatment but i feel that my teeth are almost perfect, what do you suggest?
also what can you do about root absoprtion? should i have the tooth taken out and replaced with an implant and if i did this could i continue with invisalign?

thank you

Is sensitive treatment as a result of Invisalign and something to worry about?

May 31st, 2011
Q.

Hi Doctor

i have recently started my Invisalign treatment and am around 2 months in but my teeth are still sensitive from time to is the normal. I worry a little bit more than most because i have been told that I have short roots and could suffer from root absorption and the general sensitivity is coming from the tops of my teeth. I have booked an appointment to see my dentist but in the meantime would like some extra advice to make a considered decision. In your estimation doctor, think it wise to stop treatment completely?

thank you for your time

My dentist warned my about root resorption. Would this prevent me from having Invisalign?

May 31st, 2011
Q.

hello Doctor, hope the day finds you well,

I have been thinking of getting invisalign for a long time and have recently been able to gather the funds to so. I went to my regular dentist to have a checkup and told him that I was thinking of having Invisalign, and he made the comment that my roots may be too short for the treatment and something about root resorption. I know you won’t be able to tell completely without seeing me in person but could you explain this condition and the ramifications if i start Invisalign treatment.

thank you for your time and any help would be greatly appreciated

April 27th, 2011
Q.

I am thinking about getting an invisalign brace but am worried about some things I have heard about it, including something called root absorption, who are the people who are most at risk of this, how can you protect yourself from it and how can you tell if you have it?
Many thanks

Tooth discomfort following Invisalign has been found to be down to root resorption. Will I lose my tooth?

December 6th, 2010
Q.
I have completed two years of invisalign treatment and have recently began to feel discomfort in my front upper tooth. Closer inspection and an x ray has revealed that I have root loss leaving a jagged edge, the nerve is alive. However my invisalign orthodontist can not tell me anything about root resorption with any clarity. What would you advise? Will I lose my tooth?,
