Can Invisalign correct the damage my tongue thrusting has caused?

July 26th, 2011
Q.

hi

I have a problem with my tongue, i think it’s called tongue thrusting, and it has effected my front teeth, so they kinda jut forward. I was wondering if invisalign would be a good brace for sorting this out? Also, i will probably be needing something after the treatment to stop my tongue from ruining my smile, could you tell me is there is anything like that available?

thank you

The tops of my teeth are now rough, is this because of Invisalign?

July 25th, 2011
Q.

hello doctor, hope you are well,

i just wanted to ask you about teeth after invisalign. I had the treatment about a year ago and am very happy with the results, but have recently noticed a certain roughness to the tops of my front teeth. The roughness is right at the very top and feel like lines. The tops of my front teeth don’t hurt or anything and feel strong but i just wondered about this new texture as my teeth did not feel like that before the treatment.

thank you very much for your time and any help you can give

What should I actually expect to pay for invisalign?

July 8th, 2011
Q.

Hello,

i am looking into getting invisalign for the treatment of my gapped teeth. I have been looking at the prices offered at a number of different practices and have noticed somes are about £2000 and some are £3500. I am a person who believes if its too good to be true it is and so would like to know if the higher end of the scale is the most likely price i will be paying?

thank you for any help you can give and for reading my message

I have recently overcome gum disease, would I be able to have Invisalign?

July 7th, 2011
Q.

Hello Doctor,

I wonder could you tell me, how long after gum disease are you allowed to have invisalign? I recently underwent some periodontal cleaning after my gums became swollen and sore. My dentist has xrayed my mouth and am I very lucky in that the disease hasn’t got to the roots. It has been 4 months since my cleaning and I have made sure to maintain a thorough cleaning routine brushing my teeth daily using mouthwash daily and flossing every few days.
I plan to go to my dentist in the next couple of weeks to confirm but just wanted to ask whether in your professional opinion, I would be viable for Invisalign? Thank you very much for your time doctor and any information you can give

My Invisalign aligners don’t fit my teeth perfectly, what should I do?

July 7th, 2011
Q.

I am on my 6th set now and have noticed that on one tooth the plastic is not sitting flush to the end of my tooth, there is an excess. I have mentioned this to my dentist and he said it gives the tooth room to grow down, I don’t believe this as it is not the case for any other tooth. Now the tooth on the opposite side has done the same with my new set? Please can you let me know if you think they are not moving properly?
