I Just Had My Aligners Removed, Along With 3 Teeth! What Happened?

Hello there.I’m an adult and I’ve recently had Invaslign. When they were taken off, three of my teeth were broken. Is this common? I am currently 67 years old and none of my teeth have broken before. The treatment was going fine, all to plan with no worries at all. Then as soon as the aligners are removed by teeth come out with it! Do you think I had some underlying gum disease problem or something? Something that the orthodontist may have missed? I don’t know what else to do and don’t know where to turn from here. The orthodontist was just as shocked as I was and has referred me to a specialist dentist. I just feel as though I’ve wasted months on the treatment only for it to be completely unsuccessful. I Dropped One Of My Invisalign Aligners And Now It Looks Bent, Should I Visit My Orthodontist About This?

Hi Dr Manoloustou. I dropped my top Invisalign aligner the other day and it’s now bent slightly, it seems to fit okay but not sure if i should go to my orthodontist about this? I’m not actually due to go and see her for another 3 weeks but if this slight bend is going to affect my treatment time then i’m not sure what i should do? What do you think?? should i make an appointment? She is always SO busy because she’s an amazing orthodontist so i don’t really want to trouble her if I don’t actually need to. I mean, it’s only bent I didn’t break it, thank fully I didn’t stand on it because then I would be in great trouble haha. Thank you very much for your advice, I appreciate you reading this and getting back to me.

I’m using Invisalign and just found out that I’m pregnant, will I have to stop treatment?

Hello Dr Kumar. I was just wondering if you could please advise me with something? I have been undergoing the invisalign treatment for a few months now and found out that i am pregnant. I haven’t had chance to speak to my orthodontist yet, I’m due to see him next week but frightened he’s going to tell me that i have to stop treatment. Can being pregnant affect the way the braces work? I’ve read chances of gum disease occurring is heightened during this time so maybe it isn’t a good idea to keep the aligners in? Any advice would be great, would just love a heads up before i visit him. Thanks!

Can I Still Swim If I’m Wearing Invisalign?

Hi I was just wondering if you could help me with something? I’m a professional swimmer and looking into straightening my teeth with invisalign. Would this system be suitable for me? I mean in terms of wearing them? It would be ideal for me to keep the aligners in but I swim every day, twice a day so how would I go about keeping the aligners in? Also, if I did keep them in are they likely to stain due to the chlorine? Just some general advice would be nice before I visit my orthodontist, I’d just like to gather some general tips and such. Thank you for your time!
