Are adjustments after Invisalign treatment is complete normal?

Q.
hello doctor Thorne

Could you explain a little bit more about adjustments with invisalign braces? My dentist tells me that I need further work, longer than he estimated when i first got the braces and I just wanted to make sure that that was a normal thing to do and that I am not being lead on with further treatment.

Is is normal to have extra work to my teeth after the designated time?

thank you doctor for your time

Hi
Adjustments after a course of Invisalign treatment is quite common and known as ‘refinements’. This is when further impressions or scans of your teeth and photos are taken for a further batch of aligners. You should be able to see yourself if these are needed by how well your teeth are aligned. If you have had ‘Invisalign Full’ up to 3 courses of aligners are included. If you have had ‘Invisalign Lite’ only 1 refinement is available of 5 aligners and there may be a small charge for this.
Good luck
