Can I have my fillings done through the NHS instead of having them done by my private orthodontist?

Q. Hi I need x3 fillings, and im half way through my Invisalign. Im surprised iy it wasnt best practice for my ortho to thoroughly check for cavaties before starting treatment. My NHS dentist will charge me significantly less then my private ortho- do you think it is ok for my NHS dentist to do them if i inform him of the invisalign. I feel like my ortho is scaring me to go through him, saying it will costs me a huge amoutn if i need new impressions made because of the fillings. whats your advice? Many thanks,
A. I cannot really comment of which dentist is right, but whoever does the fillings will need to ensure that the aligner still fits when finished. All they have to do is try the aligner in when fillings have been done. Dr R Kumar BDSLDSRCS
