Does Invisalign treatment require removal of other teeth to make space?

Q. I am looking into invisalign and from what I can read there does not seem to be any need to have teeth extracted for this treatment. This seems to be the case with metal braces on the other hand from what I have read. Is there any way in which teeth will be affected by this brace treatment, I have heard of something called tooth shaving but am not entirely sure what it is? And is it safe please?,
A. Sometimes if there is crowding some tooth shaving would be beneficial to create to allow full alignment of the teeth. Provided this is not excessively done it still leaves enamel in between the teeth, so no long term sensitivity should occur. One would argue that if the teeth are straighter it is easier to clean in between them.
