Q. I rang my dentist yesterday to inform him that one of my attachments had fallen out. He said this was no problem and that he would put in another one on my next visit to the dentist. This leads me to my question. What is the point in attachments then, if it doesn’t even matter if they fall out?

Secondly, they increase the stability of the aligners.
Finally, if an attachment is out for a couple of weeks it might not make a significant difference provided the attachment is fitted back on the next appointment.
