How Long Will A Vivera Retainer Last For?

Q.
Dear Dr Thorne

I am considering an Invisalign course and can see from the website that treatment for the average person starts at approximately £2500. Whilst I accept that Vivera retainers will need to be worn for the rest of my life I am unable to find anywhere on the website the cost implication of this. How long, on average, is a Vivera retainer expected to last, is the lifetime supply included as part of the course of treatment, if not how much are a pair of retainers?

regards. Hope to hear from you soon.

Hi
Vivera retainers are made by Invisalign, are 30% stronger than typical clear aligners and when worn every night are an excellent way to hold the teeth. They come as a pack of 3 identical retainers. Each one may last from a few months to a year or more depending on how it is looked after and if you have any habits such as tooth grinding. They may be included or an additional cost, which your dentist should advise you on before you start treatment. However I would doubt anyone would provide these for life!
Good luck
Adam.
